We consider numerically the crossover scaling behavior from the directed percolation universality class to the compact directed percolation universality class within the one-dimensional Domany-Kinzel cellular automaton. Our results are compared to those of a recently performed field theoretical approach. In particular, the value of the crossover exponent φ = 2 is confirmed.

General relativity is a mathematical model that uses sophisticated geometry to describe simple physics. It agrees with experiment in the few tests that can be made, but the whole edifice is not physics. Instead of using observations to test that model, I derive a simple empirical model of elementary physics and cosmology from the observations. The observations imply that the universe is a finit...

متن کاملHyperscaling in the Domany-Kinzel cellular automaton.
An apparent violation of hyperscaling at the endpoint of the critical line in the Domany-Kinzel stochastic cellular automaton finds an elementary resolution upon noting that the order parameter is discontinuous at this point. We derive a hyperscaling relation for such transitions and discuss applications to related examples. PACS numbers: 05.70.Ln, 05.50.+q, 64.90.+b ∗ e-mail address: dickman@l...
متن کاملScaling exponents of rough surfaces generated by the Domany-Kinzel cellular automaton.
The critical behavior at the frozen-active transition in the Domany-Kinzel stochastic cellular automaton is studied via a surface growth process in (1+1) dimensions. At criticality, this process presents a kinetic roughening transition; we measure the critical exponents in simulations. Two update schemes are considered: in the symmetric scheme, the growth surfaces belong to the directed percola...
